On January 1st of this year, Mijn Verkoopmakelaar was launched. The website is ‘the Werkspot for real estate agents’. Homeowners with plans to sell post photos of their house on the website and real estate agents from the area send a proposal for the sale. The consumer chooses his real estate agent based on the approach, the price, the lead time, and the expected proceeds from the sale.
The idea arose when founder Antoine Steenkamer (25) increasingly found notes in the mailbox from real estate agents looking for sale assignments. ‘It seemed like the real estate agents were busier finding houses to take into sale than actually selling houses. I thought, I'm going to help them with that’, according to Antoine. Together with co-founders Michel Bardelmeijer (23), Ron Kesting (30), and Stefan Lazarov (25), hard work was done to launch mijnverkoopmakelaar.nl on January 1st, 2019.
The necessity of the website is great. The differences between real estate agents in quality, approach, and prices are not always clear to a consumer. The only way previously to make a good choice as a homeowner was to invite four or five real estate agents home. By doing this selection mostly from the couch, it saves quite a bit of time for the consumer: you no longer have to keep entire afternoons free and can compare many more real estate agents than before.
Conversely, it is also a solution for real estate agents. They can present themselves early to sellers and have more time left to invest in selling houses.
Two months after the launch, more than 80 real estate agents have joined the platform, and the first consumers have listed their house for sale.
