1. NVM
In the Netherlands, there are 4400 real estate agents affiliated with the NVM. NVM is an abbreviation for 'Dutch Cooperative Association of Real Estate Agents and Appraisers in Real Estate'. Quite a mouthful. It boils down to the NVM keeping control of the education of the real estate agents who are affiliated. The members are knowledgeable and keep their level of knowledge up to date with the right diplomas and certificates. They also have legal expertise; they know all the ins and outs and relieve you of complex documentation. In addition, they have access to a large NVM network of potential buyers and extra many possibilities on Funda. NVM real estate agents are often a little more expensive than real estate agents who are not affiliated. This can vary by city and real estate agent.
2. VBO
VBO stands for 'Association Mediation Real Estate'. It is the second largest Dutch association of real estate agents and appraisers (after the NVM). Slightly more than 1100 real estate agents and appraisers are members. VBO real estate agents are similar to NVM real estate agents, but have slightly fewer possibilities on Funda than NVM real estate agents. Therefore, you usually pay slightly less for a VBO real estate agent. Every real estate agent who is a member of VBO is insured against professional liability. 3. VastgoedPRO
Real estate agents who are affiliated with VastgoedPRO are also generally cheaper than NVM real estate agents. The association's focus is on safeguarding quality, expertise and advocacy. Like VBO real estate agents, they do not have all the possibilities on Funda (which NVM real estate agents do have).
