Why hire a real estate agent?

real estate agent with young couple viewing a house

You naturally want to handle the sale of your home professionally. Therefore, it is wise to hire a real estate agent who guides you through the entire sales process.

A real estate agent helps you with the following matters:

  • Preparing for the sale, such as taking photos and measuring your home
  • Determining the right asking priceand the right sales strategy
  • Listing your home on Funda (without a real estate agent, this is not possible)
  • Guiding the viewings
  • Conducting negotiations when a bid is made
  • Drafting the sales contract

Most real estate agencies have a full-service policy. This means they help you from A to Z with the sale. Read more here about what these real estate agencies arrange for you. Other agencies also offer partial services, where you only use certain services (and therefore pay less). Certain tasks, such as guiding the viewings, you then take on yourself as a seller.
